We were very happy to receive top marks in the form of 3 Gold Stars from Ashley Banjo, Kimberly Wyatt and Adam Garcia. This meant that we were through to the Judges Shortlist of the top 200 or so dance acts in the UK.

After much deliberation by the judges, we finally received a home visit from Kimberly Wyatt who told us that the competition was very close indeed and that we just missed out on a place in the live Semi-finals for the top 30 acts.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of Got To Dance and plan to participate again next year! We sincerely hope that a few new people are inspired to try their local salsa club after seeing Pexava-style salsa on their TV screens!

• Drills for body isolation focusing on specific parts of the body.
• How to interpret musical breaks and work with the different instruments of salsa music.
• Principles of posture, centre and core stability for sharpness.

• Providing you with the skills and tools to dance more freely with the music for your favourite tracks!

NEW PEXAVA FOUNDATION COURSE

Weekly Thursdays from 1st March 2012, 2015-2145hrs.

An intensive studio-based course with Gil & Shelley.

Limited numbers, mirrored studio work & regular consolidation sessions.

Uniquely taught by international championship performers Gil & Shelley, the course will develop your all-round dancing skills including musical interpretation, timing, leading and following and spinning. This 12-week course will include the option to perform, should you wish (although this is not compulsory). The course is being initiated in response to strong demand for a Foundation-level class for Intermediate and Higher Improver dancers, following the success of the Pexava Advanced Showgroup.

• Learn a choreography that incorporates leading and following technique, signature Pexava moves and partnerwork, styling, stability, posture and centre, body movement, spinning and stage presence.
• ALL moves are leadable/followable on the dancefloor. This course is guaranteed to develop your social dancing as well as your performance skills. The emphasis of the training is on development of your dancing level and your confidence. There will be a range of performance opportunities available for those of you that are interested.
• Individual attention and high levels of interaction and feedback from Gil and Shelley in a exceptionally fun and friendly atmosphere, making new friends and meeting new members of the Pexava Family!

Your classes will be conducted in a mirrored studio in Chiswick, with the final Thursday of each month consisting of a consolidation session in Holborn (2015-2145hrs) PLUS free entry to the monthly Social at Conway Hall and half-price entry to the Pexava Intermediate/Advanced class there (1915-2015hrs). You may sign up as a couple or an individual but we will aim for equal numbers of leaders and followers. We rotate all members in training for the first half of the course before helping you all to select performance/practice partners. Places are strictly limited.
